North Sound Church plans Holy Week observances

North Sound Church in Edmonds will celebrate Easter during the 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on Sunday, March 31, at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 4th Ave. N. A baptism service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the North Sound sanctuary, located across the street from the Conference Center at 404 Bell St. Childcare will be available during all three services.

A Maundy Thursday communion service is set for 7 p.m. March 28 at North Sound. The service, which derives its name from the Latin word for “command” and Jesus’ mandate to love one another as He loves them, commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus and his apostles, according to church tradition.

At 7 p.m. on Good Friday, March 29, a Tenebrae service will be held at North Sound. The solemn service that takes its name from the Latin word for “shadows” recreates the emotional aspects of the Passion, or crucifixion, of Christ.
