Socially Single: It’s an Edmonds Kind of Date

I remember back in high school, there was a photo series called “It’s an Edmonds Kind of Date” in our yearbook one year. It was really sweet…and funny enough, some 20-plus years later, I have some of the same places on my list. Our charming city has so many options that make for a fun date!

The Beaches
Brackett’s Landing, Olympic Beach, Marina Beach…several options for enjoying the spectacular natural beauty of our beloved waterfront. You might even catch our own Edmonds Beach Water Temperature-Taker Dude on his daily stroll. Snap a photo with him, I hear he’s happy to oblige!

Activity-Focused Dates
Having a focused activity on a date gives you something to talk about and bond over. And a little friendly competition is one way to generate a few laughs. Luckily, there are lots of activities to enjoy in Edmonds!
Whirlyball brings out the kid in everyone. Or try your hand at old-fashioned arcade games at Family Fun Center.

A game of pool or darts can be enjoyed at The Channel Marker. Affordable drinks, friendly staff and the best deep-fried pickles in town can be found here.

It might take some planning ahead, but a date at Embellished is a great way to show your artistic flair and have a cool memento from the evening.
Happy Hour
Happy hour is a great idea for a date because it has a defined time-period and it’s more romantic than coffee but less formal than dinner. Edmonds boasts some of the BEST happy hour spots around. Some of my faves include The Loft, Demetri’s, and Las Brisas. Check out the entire list on our website.

Dinner and a Movie
It may be the “old stand-by” as far as date ideas go, but there is something special about catching a movie at The Edmonds Theater, which opened in 1926.

There are several restaurants downtown where you can grab a bite to eat before or after a movie; A Very Taki Tiki Bar, Epulo and Milltown Lounge are all within walking distance.

After the show, duck into Daphne’s next door for a cocktail and make some new friends at the friendliest little bar in town.
