Edmonds Parks Department honored with three state awards Thursday

From Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, via Facebook, comes the news that the Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department won three statewide awards during the Washington Recreation and Parks Association Annual Banquet in Vancouver, Wash. Thursday night.

The awards? “One for the completed Hazel Miller Park in front of Old Milltown, a second award to the Floretum Garden Club for their involvement with the same project and a third award for our involvement with Lynnwood and MLT for the innovative 3rd grade swim program through the Verdant Foundation,” he said.

“And in case you didn’t know, our Parks Director, Carrie Hite, is the President Elect of the Organization! VERY PROUD!” Earling said.
