Reminder: EPIC president to speak at Friends of Edmonds Library meeting Thursday

Join guest speaker Janette Turner for her talk, “Connecting Community Through Story and Memoir,” at the next Friends of the Edmonds Library meeting, 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Library’s upstairs Plaza Room, 650 Main St.

Turner is a writing teacher and president of EPIC, a local nonprofit supporting writers year round with free classes and workshops. Her Monday morning writing class is a popular draw at the Edmonds Library, and her Artfully Edmonds column for My Edmonds News was a weekly highlight this past year.

In addition to finishing her forthcoming book, “Confessions of a Cosmo Addict: A Magazine Memoir,” Turner hosts a memoir class at a local battered women’s shelter. She believes writing down your memories can lead to a happy ending. Learn more at
