Fire District 1 fire calls, week of April 4-10

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 336 calls the week of April 4-10: 276 emergency medical aid calls, 15 fires, 30 motor vehicle collisions, six service calls, 19 automatic fire alarms, three carbon monoxide alarms, one natural gas leak and one hazardous materials response.

April 4
COLLISION.  At 10:47 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision involving a van and a truck on northbound I-5 north of 164th Street Southwest. Two patients were transported by ambulance to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

April 5
COLLISION. At 2:17 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a car that crashed into a tree at 9th Avenue North and Caspers Street in Edmonds.

COLLISION. At 7:58 a.m., a car crashed into a concrete barrier on southbound I-5 north of 196th Street Southwest in Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION. At 1:05 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a collision involving a motor home that rolled over on northbound I-5 south of 128th Street Southwest. No one was injured.

COLLISION. At 3:12 p.m., a rollover collision was reported on northbound I-5 south of 220th Street Southwest. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION. At 3:56 p.m., a car struck a median barrier at Alderwood Mall Parkway and SR 525. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION. At 4:46 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at Highway 99 and Manor Way north of Lynnwood. One patient was transported by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

April 6
COLLISION. At 1:41 a.m., one person was injured when a car crashed into a tree at 68th Avenue West and Meadowdale Road in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

COLLISION. At 6:27 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at Larch Way and Poplar Way.

April 9
COLLISION. At 8:59 p.m., one person was injured in a collision at 212th Street Southwest and 44th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported the patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

April 10
HOUSE FIRE. At 1:48 p.m., dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from a house in the 8700 block of 236th Street Southwest in Edmonds. The resident, a man in his 60s, safely escaped. Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a second-floor room. Damage to the home is estimated at $90,000. Fire investigators determined the fire was started by misplaced smoking materials.

BEDROOM FIRE. At 5:48 p.m., firefighters responded to a bedroom fire in a mobile home in the 13300 block of Highway 99. No one was injured. The fire was contained to a mattress and small area of a bedroom. It appeared the fire was started by a space heater that was too close to combustible clothing.
