Some Edmonds residents spend their free time on the Sound, while others never explore past the asphalt. If you’re a landlubber and want to luff (alter your course) to become a sailor, you live in the right town. The Corinthian Yacht Club offers connections and opportunities to crew, and CYC Co-Commodore Gay Morris recently provided an update:

“We are now sailing our Spring Frostbite Series (the next one is April 7 at 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Port of Edmonds). Later in the spring we will have a Jack and Jill race, and in May start our Wednesday evening races.

C Yacht Club 4 ships “The Summer Series is our most popular event. We are blessed with generally nice weather and good winds during our summer evenings. It starts May 15 and runs every Wednesday through June 26. We take a break for the July 4th Holiday and start the racing again on July 11 and run through August 22. These races are informal, a lot of fun, and all boats are welcome. The races start at 6:30 p.m. Most boats depart the harbor about 6 p.m.

C Yacht Club dusk“Many boat owners do not sail because they have no crew. One solution is to get more people hooked up with boat owners. Our website has a “crew finder” section. Anyone can put their name and contact info in and perhaps get contacted by a boat owner. I will encourage all CYCE members who are looking for crew to regularly check the website.”
