The Lake Stevens Vikings defeated the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors 11-0 in five innings Monday on the Warriors’ home softball field.
Lake Stevens scored runs in each of the five innings played. The Vikings’ Amie Browder and Jessica Scruggs each went 3-for-4 and together had nine RBI. Scruggs hit a double and a triple and Browder hit a triple and a home run.
With Warriors’ starting pitcher Katelynn Lafferty still out with an injury, McKenzie Brendemuhl took the circle. Despite Brooklynn Bailey batting 2-for-2 and Moni Jackson hitting 2-for-3, the Warriors were unable to score and the game ended early due to mercy rule.
