Warriors fall to Royals in extra innings

The Warriors fought back and tied the game in the seventh inning but the Lynnwood Royals still came out on top, beating E-W 7-5 Monday evening.

With Brooklynn Bailey and Taylor Jones standing on first and second base, Ari Girouard hit a double out to left field and both girls scored to tie the contest 5-5. But Lynnwood was able to score two more runs in extra innings and although the Warriors had runners on base, they couldn’t get them home and the Royals won 7-5.

Bailey went 3 for 5 with an RBI and added another home run to her stats. Girouard went 2-for-4, with both hits being doubles. Moni Jackson went 3 for 5 with one RBI and pitched a complete eight innings.

Lynnwood’s Gott sisters helped their team to the victory as Jessica Gott went 3-for-5, scoring two runs and two RBI. Sister Erica went 3-for-5, scoring two runs and one RBI. Jessica Gott also pitched a complete eight innings.

The Warriors play again on Wednesday at Kamiak at 4 p.m.
