The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is spreading the word on shopping local in a new way by showcasing local service businesses this Saturday, June 1. My Edmonds News is a sponsor of the event and Publisher Teresa Wippel will be there to meet readers and answer questions. Just look for our table!

The public is invited to the second annual event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Edmonds Conference Center (located at 201 4th Ave N. in downtown Edmonds). Shuttle service will be provided between the Edmonds Rotary Waterfront Festival — also taking place in Edmonds this weekend! — and the Business Expo, with a stop at 4th Avenue and Bell in downtown Edmonds.

The Business Expo provides those looking for local service providers to learn about offerings and meet local business owners in person. Over 45 exhibitors will showcase their service businesses at Business Expo 2013! Services featured include remodeling, construction, computer repair, social media, massage, professional photography, muralists and musicians. Valuable door prizes donated by expo exhibitors will be awarded every hour.

Cindy Hopper, owner of Frog Pond Apps, will speak at noon on Mobile Marketing. Attendees of the brief educational session will learn how bringing mobile tools and strategies together to create effective mobile marketing campaigns and how business owners can leverage mobile marketing to increase profits for those businesses.

We look forward to seeing you at the Expo!
