Rebecca Wright hit a walk-off three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Meadowdale High School’s softball team a victory over Enumclaw, propelling the Mavs into the state semifinal 3A tournament game Saturday. The Mavs now face defending champions Kamiakin at 9 a.m.
Earlier in the day, Meadowdale beat Auburn Mountainview 6-0.
In state tennis action, Edmonds-Woodway’s Myint-Zu Kyaw will play for fifth place in the state 4A girls tennis tournament Saturday, following one loss and two wins Friday. She fell in the first match to Jelena Vidovic of Union, 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-4, then defeated Kristina Stevanovic of Mount Rainier 6-3, 6-0 and Sydney Wallace of Union 6-3, 7-5.
Kyaw will meet South Kitsap’s Kailyn Skjonsby for 5th and 8th place.
