My Edmonds News is pleased to provide this new report on what you can find at the downtown Edmonds Museum Saturday market, written by market manager Christina Martin
By Christina Martin
It’s Memorial Day weekend, and a great time stop by and shop for your weekend BBQs. Here are highlights of what you’ll find:
Frog Song Farm – lovely salad mixes and herbs.
Five Acre Farm – mini heads of lettuce
Bautista Farm – baby carrots and asparagus
Skagit River, Martiny, and Sky Valley – plenty of chops, steaks, burgers and more for the BBQ.
Looking for appetizers? Check the unique cheeses from Gothberg, Mt. Townsend, and Gold Glen. The goat cheese from Gothberg is a great addition to any salad, too.
Memorial Day Brunch? Fresh eggs from Five Acre, Sky Valley, or Flying Tomato. Bacon from Sky Valley or Skagit River Farm. Syrup or jam for your Snohomish Bakery Toast, from Blue Cottage Jams.
There will be plenty of spring rhubarb as well.
Rumors have it that Flying Tomato will be joining us this weekend with some fresh tomatoes. Also, McPhail’s Berry Farm has promised strawberries (but I have my doubts).
Finally, Memorial Day is the perfect time to finish planting your veggie garden. Check out the tomato plants and more throughout the market. No sun in your yard? Visit Phocus Farm to see what fabulous succulent plants he has to offer.
Please get it right!!!! The sponsor of the Saturday Market is the EDMONDS MUSEUM, the city provides the location.
Museum name has been added.
