Anyone with an interest in the arts and the key role they play in Edmonds is invited to the Edmonds Arts Summit from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. this Saturday, June 29 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.
Organized by the City of Edmonds Arts Commission, the Arts Summit is described in a city news release as “a free citywide gathering of the arts and culture community: a day for highlighting the scope and energy of the Edmonds arts scene, plus an opportunity for learning and sharing.”
The keynote speaker will be Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research & Policy at Americans for the Arts, who will provide a national perspective on the business of arts and its role in community development. In addition, My Edmonds News Publisher Teresa Wippel will participate in a panel on “Promoting the Arts: Tips for Getting Publicity in the Media.”
Attendees are invited to browse the resource tables, enjoy short performances, and learn about the many arts activities in Edmonds.
The event is free but registration is required.
The Arts Summit is presented by the City of Edmonds Arts Commission on behalf of Mayor Dave Earling. Sponsors include Edmonds Center for the Arts, Edmonds Landing, Hazel Miller Foundation, Washington State Arts Commission, Lynnwood Honda, Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, Windermere Real Estate Edmonds, Hubbard Family Foundation, Edmonds Community College, Swedish Edmonds, Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, Edmonds School District, Port of Edmonds and Economic Alliance of Snohomish County.
