My Edmonds News presents this new report on what you can find at the downtown Edmonds Museum Saturday market, written by market manager Christina Martin
This week we welcome back Jessie’s Berries, Youngquist Farm and Hayton Organic berries with their first strawberries of the season. Also, if the warmth continues in the Yakima valley, Bautista Farm should be bringing some early cherries to the market as well.
As far as our row crop farmers, there are plenty of fresh greens appearing, including rainbow chard, kale varieties, romaine lettuce, onions, beautiful fresh garlic and more.
Frog Song also has been bringing a great variety of mushrooms to add to the mix. Perfect to have with some Wagu Beef burgers from Skagit River Ranch.
Our flower vendors are also featuring a wide variety of lovely peonies and some irises in their bouquets.
This is the last week for Jones Creek Farm and their tomato plants. Pick some up for your backyard gardens or patio planters.
Finally, I’m pleased to announce that our market can now accept WIC and Senior Vouchers. Only some farms have applied to the program, and these farms will be allowed to post signs at their booths telling customers they are approved for the program. Vendors not displaying the signs will not be allowed to accept the vouchers. We are working with some additional farms to have them apply and get added to the list.
We at the Edmonnds Museum are very happy to have Christina Martin over seeing our garden market. This is her first year and she had hit the ground running and keeping things in order. Welcome Christina.
