From the latest newsletter of Gallaghers Where-U-Brew, located in the Harbor Square Business Complex, comes a report on the summer’s “whirlwind of beer festival action” for the local brewery:
“For the 4 Corners Beer Fest we took a couple new kids on the block; The Weak ‘N the Knees Summer IPA and the Yardbone Northwest IPA. The summer IPA passed through the randall which was stuffed with fresh lemon, lime and orange slices and imparted the brew with extra citrus and zest flavors. This was clearly a crowd favorite as it won the people’s choice vote and the illustrious Golden Growler! You can come down and give the gilded growler a lucky rub and enjoys its second year of residency here at Gallaghers’.” (Publisher’s note: A quick online research on the randall reveals it’s a contraption for infusing flavor into beer.)
“With little time to rest on our laurels, we were thrown into the thick of the Everett Craft Beer Festival only a week later. We rolled out the big guns and brought kegs of Weak ‘N the Knees, Yardbone and our secret weapon; The Monk Belgian Triple infused through the randall with fresh orange and coriander! Needless to say, The Monk was a smash hit and we had to run an extra keg up before the festival was over. Out of the thirty competing breweries attending the festival we came in third place! We poured over 1100 tastes of our three different brews and had a great response from our old fans and first timers alike.”
“Earlier in the summer we poured at the Washington Brewers Festival at Marymoor Park and ranked in the top third out of 74 Washington breweries! The festival was a blast and we had a great time serving and sampling many stellar beers. We brought our Rashers Irish Red, Monk Belgian Tripel, Aplomado IPA and our secret weapon, a coffee-infused and whiskey-oaked stout; The Coaltrain! All our beers did extremely well and there were many Gallaghers’ T-shirt sightings :).”
Hands down the best beer I have ever tasted.
