Otherworlds in downtown Edmonds will be holding GeekBingo on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 6-9 p.m.]

GeekBingo is like traditional bingo, but with “geeky” words instead of numbers.

Otherworlds, located at 203 5th Ave. S. in Old Mill Town, is a store devoted to sci-fi, steam punk and other related topics. It’s owned by Brynn Watson and Ahren Paulson.

This will be the first time a band will play prior to the game night, said Watson.

Local band Vixy and Tony have volunteered to play outside the store from 4:30-5:30 p.m. to attract people to the event.

GeekBingo draws anywhere from 2 to 15 people each night. It’s getting bigger as more people hear about it, said Paulson.

The game night is sponsored by Seattle Browncoats Charities, and will benefit Northwest Harvest. Each board costs a $1 and you can purchase multiple boards.

“It’s about people getting together and that it’s a good cause,” said Watson.
