Registration is now open for two local Baby Peppers groups for five- through 12-month old babies and their parents wanting to come together to share, learn and grow.
The Edmonds Baby Peppers group will meet on Wednesdays, starting Sept. 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. in Edmonds. The Mountlake Terrace Baby Peppers group will meet on Mondays, starting Sept. 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Parent Trust Classroom in the Hall Creek Office Park, 6912-220th St. S.W.
Cost for the 11-week sessions is $100 for families who live in South Snohomish County due to a grant from the Verdant Health Commission. Scholarships for the program are also available.
The weekly sessions include discussion of a specific parenting topic, sharing among parents and informal socializing.
The Baby Peppers groups are facilitated by the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS), a non-profit Seattle-based organization whose mission is to strengthen families through neighborhood-based parenting groups. PEPS also sponsors Pepsapalooza, a family music festival scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17, at Everett’s Memorial Stadium. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with music, games and activities; family admission is $39.
