Steve David driving the Oh BOY! Oberto hydroplane and Mike Webster driving the Boitano Homes won their respective heats today in the Albert Lee Cup at Seafair.

David led his heat wire to wire and looked impressive in his Madison, Indiana based unlimited. Second place in the heat went to J. Michael Kelly in the Beacon Plumbing. This is particularly impressive as he flipped his boat end over end just last Sunday in the race in Tri-Cities. The team had to work all week to replace the port side rear corner of the boat, just pulling into the pits yesterday.

Webster got a bit of a break as the fastest boat in his heat, Graham Trucking, lost power before the start and both the Spirit of Qatar and the Red Dot both Jumped the gun leaving Webster with a great opportunity in his Boitano Homes unlimited.

Our local hydro, Miss Peters and May, finished fifth in its heat. Also, as mentioned Friday, Edmonds native Jesse Robertson got more laps in during testing to receive his full qualification as an unlimited driver.
