My Edmonds News asked local high school coaches how their fall sports teams are shaping up. This report is from Dan Crist, tennis coach at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Last year’s record?
13-3

Postseason in 2012?
Dylan Merrill and Jason Smarr made it to District Playoff with Kingco.

Top returning athletes?
Dylan Merrill and Max Teer

Top newcomers?
Too early to tell.

Strengths of your team?
We have great kids who are willing to work hard.

Areas of concern?
We lost over 50 percent of our starters from last year.

What was the turnout like this year?

34 with only four freshmen. Lower than years past.

How do you assess the league? Who are the strong teams/individuals?
Wesco South is always tough. Jackson and Kamiak are always strong while Cascade, Lynnwood and Mariner get better each year.
