Meadowdale Middle student named zucchini winner

Olivia Sagvold of Edmonds shows off the winning entry in the Floretum Garden Club's first annual Zucchini Judging. Olivia, a student at Meadowdale Middle School, grew her zucchini from seed. "I planted the seeds in the garden in May, and grew five plants," she said. In addition to gardening, Olivia plays piano and has been playing soccer with the Sno King league since kindergarten. She plans to grow more zucchini next year, and wants to try a few watermelon vines as well.
