Enjoy “Approaching 80: a Comedy Cabaret” and dinner show at the Edmonds Senior Center this Thursday, Sept. 19, written and performed by Lynn Ruth Miller.
Miller is a senior comedian, singer and dancer who is internationally renowned for her performances at venues such as Britain’s Got Talent, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Nationally, she has won both nights of the Texas Burlesque Festival, made it to Las Vegas in America’s Got Talent 2008, made the finals in Bill Word’s Funniest Female Contest 2009 and semi-finals in the SF International Comedy Competition.
Her attitude toward her newfound comedy career: “I want to make these years count,” she said. “I don’t want to be on my deathbed thinking: ‘I wish I had’. I want to say: ‘I’m glad I did.’”
Homemade spaghetti will be served, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available during the performance.
Reservations are available for the 5 p.m. show at the Senior Center’s Administration Office, 220 Railroad Ave. Prices are $15 for members and $25 for non-members. The Edmonds Senior Center is located just south of the ferry dock. For more information, call 425-774-5555.
