Nov. 12 breakfast to focus on ‘Wellness Beyond the Workplace’

Even when employees are healthy they often have a family member dealing with a chronic health condition and related complications. To help business owners learn how they can leverage existing community resources for better employee health and productivity, the American Diabetes Association, in partnership with Premera Blue Cross and Verdant Health Commission, is hosting a Stop Diabetes @ Work breakfast, “Wellness Beyond the Workplace.” The event will be from 7:30-9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Keynote speaker Dr. Gary Goldbaum, Lead Health Officer of Snohomish Health District, will review the current health status of Snohomish County. He will then join a health panel with representatives from Premera Blue Cross, Verdant Health Commission, Edmonds Senior Center and Walgreens Pharmacy to share how the community is coming together to address important health issues, followed by a question-and-answer session with breakfast attendees.

The breakfast will be at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. S.W. To reserve your seat, contact Brenda Wright at 206-282-4616, Ext. 7223 or email bwright@diabetes.org.
