Dogs and their owners took the opportunity put a canine spin on Halloween season Saturday, with the ninth annual Halloween Howl at the Off Leash Area Edmonds dog beach.

The festivities included pet-friendly vendor booths, a silent auction and raffle, and the always-popular doggie costume contest. Taking home the prize for the “Most Original” was the Zoey the boxer, dressed appropriately as “The Poominator” and wearing boxing gloves, shiny athletic shorts and a fighter’s robe inscribed with the words “I pity da foo’ who don’t clean up da poo!”
