For those who live on or near Lake Ballinger in southeast Edmonds, the City of Edmonds has installed a lake level monitor that automatically records and posts the lake level online. It can be found here.
The monitor provides an instantaneous lake level accurate to about 3 inches but the city is working to improve the accuracy, Stormwater Engineering Program Manager Jerry Shuster said in an email forwarded to Lake Ballinger residents.
To view, zoom in on the graph by holding down you left mouse button and framing the area you want to expand. Click on the “restore” button after zooming to go back to the original 5-day view. Water temperature is also shown on the chart via a blue line.
The web page takes the place of an email-based “Early Warning System” that had been used during the past two winters to warn lake residents of possible flooding.
it would be nice if they had the temperature in Fahrenheit for those of us that are from the u.s. and need help in converting it
