Lacey Lober
Lacey Lober

Lacey Lober
Mother’s Name: Robi Lober
Father’s Name: Derek Lober
GPA: 4.0
Clubs & Activities: This year I am enjoying my third year in Multimedia Journalism, creating video segments about current school events and other topics of interest. My favorite segment demonstrates cooking, which led me down another path as a cook in Chef School. I love it!
Athletics: While I am not currently on an official team, I enjoy racquetball, tennis, badminton, softball and biking.
Honors: While there is no Honors Society at my school, I am taking honors-level Language Arts and American Sign Language.
Awards: I have won multiple awards in robotics and engineering while participating in FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, NCCE Digitalkies and Robofest. My writing and illustrating work have been published in national poetry books and featured on the internet and television. On several occasions The Edmonds Arts Festival has displayed pieces of my art.
Community Service: The main focus of my community service work is assisting people to understand the Bible. Also, I have worked with Stream Keepers and organized groups of students to donate hand-made bandanas and pet supplies to disadvantaged pets. I plan to create cooking videos for lower-income children who have to make their own meals while their caregivers are not home.
Culminating Project: I see my culminating project as an expression of my love for culinary arts, technology and my desire to help children who need to cook nutritious, easy meals. I hope to work with a food bank to design recipes using products found on their shelves that children can turn into tasty, satisfying dishes. Bon Appetit!
Current Employment: Following my passion of Culinary Arts, I obtained an entry-level position as a server at a senior living facility. I understand why it is so important to work your way up from the bottom and how each level builds upon the previous.
Future Educational Goals: Being only 14 years old, I have plenty of time to consider my educational goals. Initially, I wish to build upon the college credits I have already acquired by entering Running Start next year. Due to my diverse interests (very left-brain/right-brain!) in everything from engineering, math, technology and inventing to culinary arts, writing and literature I am unsure where I will end up. No matter where that may be, I know I will never stop learning.
Anything else we should know? I am honored to be chosen as Student of the Month and appreciate all my teachers who have educated, supported and believed in me throughout my school years.
