Earlier this month, volunteers from Westgate Chapel were at Scriber Lake High School in Edmonds to continue with campus clean-up that had started in September. According to Westgate Chapel’s Paige Brooks, Westgate volunteers joined members of the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club and Northshore Baptist Church to clean up the campus and do some landscaping.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, Westgate volunteers returned to Scriber Lake to touch up the work that was done in September and tackle some new areas, Brooks said.
Principal Kathy Clift sent the following thank you email to the volunteers:
“Working at Scriber Lake can be challenging and difficult. Some days end in ways that you wish they had not. When you leave school by walking down overgrown, ugly sidewalks it cements your impression for the day. Now when we leave school and see the beauty and the support of our community, it helps to remind us that tomorrow will be a better day.”
