After going 1-1, Meadowdale volleyball to play in State 3A consolation match Saturday

Meadowdale High School opened the 3A state volleyball tournament with a 3-0 victory over University but then lost 3-0 to Holy Names in the quarterfinals Friday at St. Martin’s University in Lacey.

The Mavericks defeated University 25-12, 25-16, 25-19 in the opening round to advance to the quarterfinals. The Mavs struggled against Holy Names, losing 25-14, 25-22, 25-22.

The loss dropped Meadowdale into the consolation bracket, where the Mavericks will play Seattle Prep at 11:45 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 16. A victory would send Meadowdale into the fifth/sixth place match at 6:45 p.m.
