From the Publisher’s Desk: Help us do MORE — subscribe today!

Teresa Wippel bestWhy do you read My Edmonds News? What one thing would you change, if you could? Those were among the questions I posed to all of you in a reader recent survey, and the responses ran the gamut, from pats on the back to very helpful suggestions to honest criticism.

As I reviewed the survey responses, it’s clear there is a lot that you like about My Edmonds News. But it’s also clear that you believe we should do more. More follow-up stories on important issues. More news about businesses opening and closing. More stories about neighborhoods outside of downtown. A deeper dive into the politics behind decisions that are made at the local level.

Our operations are 100-percent funded through advertisers, and we are so grateful for the support of those businesses and organizations that you see on our website. Thanks to their support, we sit through weekly city council meetings, so you don’t have to. We pore through the daily police reports and let you know about burglaries in your neighborhood. We describe the achievements of our high school athletes, our middle school musicians, our elementary school scholars. We provide a calendar of events, a restaurant and happy hour guide, a weekly summary of arts activities.

But I sincerely believe that we could be doing so much more. If you value our work, would you consider a regular weekly, monthly or yearly donation — $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can afford?

We’ve made it easy. Just fill out the form below, which you can use with an existing PayPal account or simply run as a credit or debit card.

Thank you for considering.
