High school playoff round-up: Warriors take district soccer title; E-W, Mavs volleyball stay alive

Volleyball

Meadowdale 3, Shorewood 0

In the loser-out 3A District 1 tournament match, the Mavs were led by Tara Fishback with 36 assists, Amy Rickel with 17 digs, Gabrielle Mahler with 10 kills, Sloane Morrison with 12 kills and Annelise Blanchard with 11 digs. Meadowdale (12-4) now plays Mountlake Terrace in a loser-out consolation contest this Saturday.

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Jackson 0

The Warriors (13-4) swept Jackson in the 4A District 1 third-place match, and next play Bothell at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the winner headed for state. Leaders for E-W were Rebecca Sharp, 38 assists; Amanda Paavola, 15 kills; Syd Eck, 11 kills, four block kills and nine digs; Mikenna Vogel, eight kills; and Hanna Rehnfeldt, 21 digs,
