Kinderbritches sign goes missing — and there’s a reward for its return

Downtown Edmonds children’s clothing store Kinderbritches has a unique name — and a unique sign to boot.

So it’s a mystery to owner Dianna Lagervall why anyone would want to steal the sign, but that’s exactly what happened sometime between Friday and Monday, after it had been removed from the 5th and Main storefront for repairs. “It was stored and tucked away back behind our store,” said Lagervall, who noted that she has notified police and is also offering a reward for its return.

According to Lagervall, who has owned the store for 5 1/2 years, the sign is a wood-backed custom piece with Styrofoam letters and was made by the prior owners. “It’s a delicate sign, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’s returned safely,” she said.

Anyone with information about the sign can call the store at 425-778-7600 or email dianna@kinderbritches.com.
