Edmonds-area high school sports roundup for Thursday, Friday




Cascade 4, Edmonds-Woodway 1
The Warriors led 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth, when Cascade scored three runs to give them a 3-1 lead. The Bruins (1-0 league, 4-0 overall) added another run in the fifth, and Edmonds-Woodway (0-1, 2-3) was unable to score off Cascade pitcher Ky Dye.

Chantz Justice had a double for E-W in the loss.

The Warriors (5-2) were led by catcher Jackie Lovelace, who went 3-for-5 at Shorewood’s Meridian Park field. Cheyanne Strock got the win on the mound for E-W.

Boys soccer

Meadowdale 3, Mount Vernon 0
Meadowdale (2-3-1) was paced by the two goals of Colton Davis, with a shutout in the goal by Mark Steinke. Tristan Springer scored the other goal for the Mavs, while Austin Panek, Stuart Smith and Griffin Over earned assists.

Girls tennis

Meadowdale 7, Lynnwood 0
Meadowdale won all but one set in seven matches en route to an easy 7-0 victory over Lynnwood in a non-conference girls tennis match Friday at Meadowdale High School. The Mavericks’ singles winners were Sunni Lee (1), Bear Lund (2), Alisha Chand (3) and Erica Nguyen (4). Meadowdale’s doubles teams were Tea Nikolic/Rebecca Huang (1), Simran Rai/Catherine Pham (2) and Sabrina England/Tiffany Daniggelis (3).

Meadowdale improved to 2-4 overall, while Lynnwood is 0-6.
