Tuesday evening Sounder train service canceled due to mudslides

Sounder commuter train service between Seattle and Everett is canceled for the evening commute April 2 due to mudslides. Sound Transit will provide special buses with direct service to/from Northline Sounder stations in addition to local bus service.

Seattle – Edmonds buses:

Special buses to Edmonds Station will pre-board at 5th and King Street and will depart from 4th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St at 4:05 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at 5th and James at 3:57 p.m., 4:27 p.m., 4:58 p.m., 5:31 pm and 5:57 p.m.

  1. We saw the BNSF maintenance vehicle coming north on the rail tracks, so we assumed this mudslide was between Seattle and Edmonds. There was debris, wood, branches and mud on-board the carrier traveling north……small amt but still rather chilling to see after Oso.
