What’s at the Edmonds Museum Garden Market this week: First berries of season, salad greens, tomato plants

strawberriesIt seems like just last week we opened the Garden Market, and yet this marks our 5th week already. This week marks the first berries of the season, as Hayton Farm promises to bring plenty of freshly picked, sweet and delicious strawberries to the market. Frog Song Farm may have some too, as celebrate the first fruits of spring.

Also joining us this week for the first time this season are Summer Run Farm and Mother Earth Organics. Summer Run Farm plans to bring some beautiful red leaf lettuce, green garlic, and rhubarb, along with some plants. From Mother Earth Organics we will have a selection of radishes, kale, pea greens, garlic greens, a few herbs (sage, oregano, thyme, rosemary), salad mix and possibly spinach and baby romaine. All this will be added to the fabulous selection of salad greens, mushrooms, and more brought every week by Frog Song Farm.

These new farmers will be surrounded by farmers like Jones Creek Farms, bringing you a fine selection of fresh tomato plants; Phil’s Apiaries, with local raw honey from his farm up north; Pete’s Perfect Toffee, Bubba’s Salsa, Angry Fish Jams, and more.

Looking for something to take home and heat up for lunch or dinner, check out the offerings from one of our newest members this season, Got Soup. Jerry has a great selection of both hot and cold serve soups for you to enjoy. Then there is both the fresh and freshly smoked King Salmon brought by Wilson Fish. Barbecue calling you?

Check out the cuts of pork, lamb and more from Sky Valley Farm or Martiny Livestock.

Finally, don’t forget Graduation and Fathers Day are right around the corner. If you are looking for flowers for that someone special, our local growers have a lovely selection of irises, peonies and more. On the plaza we will have a fun selection of local artisans offering a wide variety of items, perfect as a gift for yourself or someone special.
