A highlight of the “An Edmonds Kind of Fourth” celebration presented by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is the Children’s Parade, featuring 2,500-plus kids marching down the street carrying banners, dressed in costumes, pulling wagons and playing music.
Children compete to win awards like “Most Patriotic”, “Best Bike or Scooter” and a few other categories. Children’s Parade registration is free and begins on July 4 at 10:30 a.m., with the parade starting at 11:30 a.m. Applications can be downloaded in advance at www.edmondswa.com. Free face painting is offered during registration, so arrive early to register and get your face painted.
With an over-100-year tradition, “An Edmonds Kind of Fourth” — with ongoing support from the Hazel Miller Foundation — kicks off a summer full of family- and community-centered activities.
