Students, staff and parents at 18 local schools raised more than $21,777 for Lynnwood-based charity Clothes for Kids during the recently concluded Coins for Kids drive.
The school included 17 from the Edmonds School District and one from the Everett School District. The Coins for Kids fundraiser — in which students donate spare change — has generated more than $275,000 for the Clothes for Kids school wardrobe program during the past nine years.
“Clothes for Kids is able to provided school wardrobes for students in preschool through 12th grade because of the support of our community. Coins for Kids is a significant and continuing part of that support helping us to provide more than 3,200 wardrobes last year,” said Nancy Laird-Burris, Clothes for Kids Program Manager.
Clothes for Kids has been serving Snohomish County since 1984, as a non-profit organization providing wardrobes for low-income families. The program has served more than 15,000 students in the past five years.
