At its June 24 meeting, the Edmonds School District Board of Directors gave its final approval to the 2014-2015 school year calendar, a schedule that will include four more district-wide half-days than the 2013-2014 school year.
The first day of classes in the 2014-2015 school year will be Wednesday, Sept. 3; the school year is scheduled to be finished on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The school year consists of 180 student days as required by the State of Washington.
Students district-wide will be released from school early on six dates: Sept. 26, Dec.12, Jan. 29, Feb. 13, March 13 and the last day of school, June 17.
The 2014-2015 school year includes six teacher-contracted Professional Development Days and two teacher non-contract days when students do not attend school; in comparison, the 2013-2014 school year included nine Professional Development Days and one teacher non-contract day.
