5th Avenue South building demolished; veterinary hospital planned

The demolition of the building from the back.

Dave Buelow Wednesday morning took this photo of the demolition of the long-empty former appliance store at 310-312 5th Ave. S., next to C’est la Vie.

tn_DSC_0213What we’ve discovered so far from the City of Edmonds:

Wilcox Construction is building a two-story animal hospital with an underground garage. Here’s the website for the new business, Fifth Avenue Animal Hospital, although it’s only a placeholder with the news that it will open in September 2014.

Here’s the message on the hospital’s Facebook page:

Fifth Avenue Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care to feline and canine patients in Edmonds, WA and surrounding communities. We focus on providing evidence based wellness care, medicine, dentistry, and surgery.

We are working to get more information and will update the story as soon as we receive it.

  1. I thought that the animal hospital was going to be built on the vacant lot to the north of the site where the current demolishment is taking place. I could be wrong.

  2. Ron…I’ve contacted the builder and the architect, and hope that when they get back to me these questions will be answered. Stay tuned…

  3. The building was demolished by Critchlow Investments to make it easier for the clinic to build. Not sure why this matters to anyone.
