Artfully Edmonds brief: Comedy and combat? Oh, yes!

A scene from Seattle Shakespeare Company’s “Comedy and Combat Camp.”

Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) is the location for the Seattle Shakespeare Company’s “Comedy and Combat Camp”, coming up July 14-18.

Imagine! “Comedy and Combat Camp” where students aged 11-14 will learn stage combat techniques and rehearse comedic scenes from Shakespeare plays.

In this intro to comedy and stage fighting, laughter and trickery abound! Participants will work on comedic scenes and monologues from Shakespeare throughout the week.

In addition to comedic character creation and improv games, expect large doses of unarmed combat, simple swordplay and comedic fights. Students will wrap up the week with a performance for family and friends.

Don’t be left out. Space is going fast for “Comedy and Combat” Tween Summer Camp. You can reserve yours here.
