Due to inclement weather, chip seal work being performed by Snohomish County maintenance crews, previously scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, will be delayed one week.
Crews are expected to chip seal 2nd Avenue North during the morning hours of Wednesday, July 30 and will reach 72nd Avenue West and 73rd Avenue West that afternoon.
This work will apply a thin protective surface to the existing asphalt. Chip sealing is a cost-effective procedure that extends the life of a road by protecting it from the deteriorating effects of sun and water.
The work will occur in the following areas:
2nd Avenue North from Bell Street to Caspers Street
72nd Avenue West from Olympic View Drive to 176th Street Southwest
73rd Avenue West from Olympic View Drive to 179th Street Southwest
Residents should expect traffic delays in these areas and are asked to not park on the street during work hours (7 a.m.-5 p.m.) Vehicles that are parked on these streets will be towed as necessary for construction.
Crews will return in early August to apply a surface-sealing treatment to 2nd Avenue North and 72nd Avenue West. Notice will be provided to affected residents in advance when the additional work is scheduled.
