This Sunday, July 13 kicks off the season for the Edmonds City Park Summer Concert series, with the 85th St. Big Band from 3-4 p.m.
Edmonds City Park is located at 3rd Avenue South and Pine Street. All concerts are free, open to the public, and accessible to people with disabilities.
The 85th Street Big Band is a lively, 20-piece big band playing dance music in the greater Seattle area. They feature swing favorites from the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s, including tunes made famous by Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Nat King Cole. The group also plays blues and seasonal music. Band members hail from Seattle, Lake Forest Park, Renton and other neighboring communities.
The band is under the direction of vocalist Amy Arthur. Visit their website www.85thstreetbigband.com to learn more about the group and listen to clips of their music.
