Edmonds K9 Hobbs receives protective vest

Edmonds Police Department K9 Hobbs has received a bullet- and stab-protective vest,thanks to the efforts of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization, and The Petco Foundation.

Hobbs will be able to use the vest during  his next shift with his partner, Officer Jason Robinson. The Edmonds Police Department’s other K9, Kira, will also be receiving a custom-made vest, having also been selected by Vested Interest in K9s earlier this year.

Vested Interest in K9s was the beneficiary of the Petco Foundation’s fundraising efforts through the “Helping Heroes” campaign that raised $10,687.00.  Hobbs was one of 14 K9 vest recipients. The Edmonds Police Department’s other K9, Kira, will also be receiving a custom-made vest, having also been selected earlier this year.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) all volunteer charity located in East Taunton, MA. whose mission is to provide bullet- and stab-protective vests for law enforcement dogs throughout the United States. Each vest costs $950 and has a five-year warranty.
