Salem Lutheran Community Garden will be hosting an open house and a multi-family yard sale on July 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 9924 232nd St. S.W. in Edmonds, one block south of PCC Natural Market. The public is invited to learn more about community gardening, see what the gardeners are growing, and check out the newly-built 550-gallon gravity-fed rainwater harvesting system.
Salem Lutheran Church will be cleaning out some of its former classrooms, and many of the items would be ideal for homeschoolers, the church said. Proceeds from the yard sale will go toward ongoing and future garden projects.
Spots are available for those who would like to take part in the yard sale. Those interested in selling items at the sale or donating items for the garden to sell should contact the program coordinator, Andrew Hokenso,n at ahokenson@yahoo.com.
