Two Edmonds students made outstanding finishes at last weekend’s Alki Beach 5K in West Seattle, a benefit for Northwest Hope and Healing breast cancer patients, which drew about 1,100 runners and walkers.
According to our friends at the West Seattle Blog, Edmonds-Woodway High School incoming senior Miler Haler, 17, took first place overall in the Aug. 24 race, running the course in 15:57. He also won the event last year.
E-W Class of 2014 graduate Hailey Kettel, 18, was the second-place female, finishing at 18:30.
Both students were prominent members of the Warrior track and cross country teams last year.
