City of Edmonds looking for Transportation Committee members

The City of Edmonds is seeking interested citizens / business owners to serve on the Transportation Committee. The committee has the following purposes:
1) Monitor and make recommendations relative to motorized and non-motorized transportation issues, systems, and funding.
2) Contribute input to the City’s Transportation Comprehensive Plan (including Walkway Plan) and updates to this plan, and also monitor the efforts to implement the improvements detailed in the plan. Act as an advisory role for staff and mayor.
3) Enhance communication with the public in regards to various transportation needs.
4) Educate citizens about various transportation issues.

Applicants must reside within Edmonds city limits and be interested in transportation systems. The term will be a minimum of two years. The committee consists of seven members and a city staff member, and will meet on a monthly basis starting in November (date and time to be determined). All citizen positions are non-paid.
