Edmonds City Council seeking applicants for Economic Development Commission

The Edmonds City Council is seeking applicants interested in serving on the City of Edmonds Citizens Economic Development Commission. There are currently two openings. Commissioner terms are staggered and the EDC may sunset on Dec. 31, 2015.

The purpose of the commission is to address specific issues related to economic development and is responsible for helping identify new sources of revenue as a direct result of economic development projects; new strategies for economic development; and to provide recommendations regarding strate­gies for economic development and other mat­ters that will improve commercial viability, tourist development and activity for consideration by the Edmonds City Council. In addition to its other duties, the commission will work in conjunction with the Planning Board to review and consider economic development strategies. Meetings of the commission are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month.

Interested individuals may apply online at EdmondsWa.gov, or pick up an application at the reception desk in the lobby of City Hall located at 121-5th Ave. N., or call 425-771-0247 to receive an application by mail or email. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
