Annual information meetings, testing schedule set for school gifted programs

Edmonds School District gifted programs are intended to provide support for students who exhibit extremely high cognitive ability, often demonstrate significantly advanced levels of academic achievement and/or display unusual creative behavior. You can learn more during evening parent meetings as follows:
Grades K-7 Parent (only) meeting – Oct. 22, 6-7 p.m., Terrace Park Elementary
Grade 8 Parent/Student meeting – Oct. 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Edmonds-Woodway High, Little Theatre

Gifted students take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT6) and must qualify as “gifted/highly capable.” Testing is as follows:

Grades K-5 Challenge Test – Dec. 6– Referral due Nov. 21
Grades 6-7 Gifted Middle Test – Dec. 13 – Referral due Nov. 21
Grade 8 IB Test – Dec. 13 – Referral due Dec. 1
