Los Pingous
Los Pinguos

Los Pinguos
Saturday, Oct. 11 ~ 7:30 p.m.
Edmonds Center for The Arts (ECA)
410 4th Ave. N.

Although they have been referred to as “The Latin Beatles” and their music compared to that of the Gypsy Kings – I prefer to call this mesmerizing, exciting rhythm group by their real name — Los Pinguos!

Originally from Buenos Aires, Los Pinguos (the Penguins) combine Latin rhythms, performed with Spanish guitars, bass and harmonizing vocals.

The line up includes Adrián Buono, José Agote, Juan Manzur and Juan Manuel Leguizamón, and Santiago Lee.

With their combination of musical passion and rhythmic heat it didn’t take long for the band to gain global attention.

Can’t wait? I certainly couldn’t; so I checked out Los Pinguos’ performance mix on YouTube.

The Phoenix Theatre Company has a Halloween Season treat in mind for us in their next performance; and I for one cannot wait to see the results!

I’m sure the characters “spirited” good humor and “bewitching” great lines as they conduct a séance in order to gain material for their next novel will turn into a spook-filled comedy!

Playbill News: Socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, invites the eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book.

Columnist’s note: Madame Arcati is played the madcap Melanie Calderwood — and we are not referring to her swami wrap!

Ticket pre-sales for The Phoenix Theatre are here.

The longtime chairman and his loyal assistant, determined to protect their company, bring in a young lawyer who specializes in fending off takeovers. Should she use green mail? Find a white knight?
