Edmonds man involved in motorcycle, truck collision during Thursday morning commute on I-405

A 59-year-old Everett man driving a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck driven by an Edmonds man on southbound I-405 this morning, causing a major backup during Thursday morning’s commute.

The Washington State Patrol reported that a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer and driven by a 28-year-old from Edmonds was driving in the southbound HOV lane on I-405 near Lynnwood. The motorcycle made a lane change and collided with the truck.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a possible broken arm and collarbone. He was cited for failure to yield. The motorcyclist’s injuries were thought to be non-life threatening. No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the State Patrol. The driver and passenger in the truck were not injured and the truck sustained only minor damage. A lane was blocked for about an hour.
