Experts in helping veterans transition to civilian life featured at Nov. 11 gala

omf_cares3.23.13Edmonds-based Operation Military Family is publicly launching its non-profit branch, OMF Cares, at a national gala in Lynnwood on Veterans Day, with the goal of helping military veterans transition to civilian life. The event will be at the Lynnwood Convention Center on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m.

“This is going to be a truly inspiring evening and I‘m honored to be a part of it,” says OMF founder and Navy veteran Mike Schindler. “We’ll have special appearances by the U.S. Army Color Guard and many veterans going back as far as WWII, as well as special guest speaker and former Navy SEAL Mark Divine, author of the acclaimed book ‘The Way of the Seal’.”

Schindler, who lives in Edmonds and writes the Edmonds Military Wire column for My Edmonds News, says the primary mission of OMF Cares is to strengthen, enrich and support our service members and their families. The National Gala Event will offer an entertaining and compelling evening that honors service members, veterans and their families, while providing the community with new opportunities to engage with and support our military families.

Tickets for the event cost $25 per seat and can be purchased at www.omfcares.org.
