The case of former City of Edmonds Human Resources Director Debi Humann against the City of Edmonds and former Edmonds Mayor Mike Cooper is scheduled for jury trial on Monday, Oct. 27 in U.S. Federal Court in Seattle.
Plaintiff Humann has named the City of Edmonds and Cooper as defendants. She alleges wrongful termination stemming from unlawful retaliation against her related to her cooperation with a 2011 Washington State Auditor’s Office investigation.
My Edmonds News plans to be in the courtroom and provide “as it happens coverage” during the day.
Jury selection is expected to occur in the morning, with opening arguments possible by Monday afternoon.
For those who want to attend, the federal courthouse is located at 7th and Stewart in downtown Seattle. The courtroom is 14206.
I think it is important to see what happened “behind closed doors”.
In support of you Debbie
Glad to see this being reported, sometimes it gets lost there are real folks involved in these matters and how time consuming and expensive it is for the average person to pursue them. Debbie got caught up in a political issue. It will be interesting to read the findings, and it was interesting to read the pleadings. Best to you, Debbie.
