Meadowdale won its first match of the season, defeating Marysville-Getchell 25-18, 31-33, 30-28, 25-19 in a Wesco 3A volleyball clash Thursday at Meadowdale High School.
Lauren Hunnewell recorded 39 assists and 18 digs and Elly Cashdollar had 13 kills. Sara Coppa had 9 kills, 13 digs and 5 aces and Kaitlyn Webster added 14 digs.
Meadowdale improved to 1-4 in the league and 1-6 overall.
Edmonds-Woodway beat Stanwood 3-1 in the Spartan’s home gym; the Warriors improve to 3-1 league, 4-2 overall. Hannah Rehnfeldt led E-W with 23 digs while Kelly Gootee had 34 assists.
